25 MMDCEs to contest NDC primaries in Ashanti

Twenty-Five out of the 27 Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the Ashanti Region have picked nomination forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Mr Joseph Yamin, the party’s Regional Secretary, said the District Chief Executives for Bosomtwe and Atwima-Nwabiagya were the two officials who did not pick nomination forms.

He told Ghana News Agency in Kumasi that it was a healthy development for the NDC.

Mr Yamin said the party was poised to win at least 10 parliamentary seats in the Region, which traditionally has remained the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party.

He said this, however, demanded hard work, resilience and sacrifice from NDC loyalists.

Mr Yamin said that even though the party would undoubtedly win next year’s election massively, it would not be complacent.

He advised the youth not to allow themselves to be used by self-seeking politicians to create confusion and endanger national peace and security.
