24 NFED facilitators at Bole District awarded

Bole, Feb. 3, GNA – Twenty-four (24) facilitators of the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) of the Ministry of Education and Sports, at the Bole District in the Northern Region, have been presented with incentive packages worth 45.5 million cedis for their dedication to duty.

The package comprised 24 roofing sheets, nine sewing machines and eight bicycles.

The District Coordinating Director, Alhaji Fusheini Ibn Alhassan who presented the awards on behalf of the District Chief Executive, thanked the World Bank and other donors for supporting the NFED programme in the District.

He said the programme had sensitised the people to practice personal hygiene, good sanitary practices and immunise their children against the six childhood killer diseases.

Alhaji Alhassan said the NFED was organising the adult learners into various economic ventures such as batik, tie and dye, gari processing, bread baking, fashion designing and cashew farming.

The District Coordinator of the NFED, Mr Thomas Saaka Nanyor said the programme had turned out 1386 learners since 2002.
