24 Applications for districts short-listed

Twenty-four applications have been short-listed out of the 72 petitions submitted to the government for the creation of new districts.

It is envisaged that only 10 out of the 24 will be considered for the creation of new districts.

Capt. Nkrabeah Effah-Dartey (rtd), Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development disclosed this in an interview in Accra yesterday.

He said the Second phase of the process has also begun.

He explained that under this phase, various applicants would be required to defend their petitions.
