23 community- based women’s group attend capacity building workshop

Bolgatanga, Feb.20, GNA- Twenty- three (23) women’s groups from the Upper East region, have attended a three- day capacity building workshop in Bolgatanga.

The workshop, which was organized by the African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF), exposed the women to leadership and managerial skills, group dynamics, basic accounting, book keeping, marketing and selling techniques, fund raising and legal literacy.

Mrs Stella Kofie-Yariga, Senior Programme Manager of AWDF who addressed the participants said since 2001, women groups in Ghana had received 38,000 dollars out of the 1,500,000 dollars the Fund has awarded as grants to 179 women organizations in 33 countries.
