?23.6bn Paid to District Assemblies’ Common Fund

Accra, July 15, GNA – Government has authorised the transfer of 23.665 billion cedis from the Consolidated Fund to the District Assemblies’ Common Fund, a statement from the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning said on Friday.

The statement signed by Nana Ohene-Ntow, Government Spokesman, Finance and Economy, said 23,665,829,374.00 cedis, which the Government had authorised to be transferred represented part of the total budget approved for 34 districts in the Northern, Upper West and Upper East Regions for 2005 under the District-wide Assistance Project.

It said the Deputy Minister of Finance and Economic Planning in Charge of Budget, Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, directed the Controller and Accountant-General to make the transfer with immediate effect.
