22-year old farmer remanded for murder

Bibiani (W/R), Aug. 30, GNA – The Bibiani Magistrate Court has remanded a 22-year old farmer at Sefwi-Adobewura Number ‘2’, near Sefwi-Bekwai into prison custody for alleged murder.

Cudjoe Akibe’s plea was not taken and would reappear on Wednesday, September 1.

Police Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court presided over by Mr Osei Kofi Amoako that the offence was committed on August 1 at about 2000 hours.

The accused, he said, picked a quarrel with the deceased, Sampson Manu, and in the process drew a sharp object, stabbed Manu in the left side of his chest, killing him instantly.

A younger brother of the deceased, Kwaku Yeboah, who attempted going to his aid, also had his abdomen pierced, as his intestines gushed out.

Yeboah was rushed to the Bibiani District Hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), where he was kept on admission for sometimes.

The body of Manu had since been buried.
