21-year -old man fined for threatening to kill his mother

Tema, Aug 12, GNA – A 21-year-old man, who threatened to kill his mother and assaulted a policeman, has been fined five million cedis by the Tema Circuit Court ‘A’.

Albert Nortey Tetteh, unemployed, pleaded guilty and will go to jail for five years in default.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Sarah Aggrey Acquah told the Court, that on July 25,this year, the mother of the accused was informed that her son have been spotted lying in a drain in a state of stupor.

She asked a sibling of Albert, Nortey Tetteh Tei, and one other person to bring him home. When the accused was brought home, he became violent and assaulted her mother and also threatened to kill her if she did not leave the house.

The mother sent for the police but the accused resisted arrest and in the process attack the policeman who was effecting his arrest.
