2025 WAFU ZONE B: Ghana Defeats Niger 2-0 to Finish Third at 2025 WAFU U20 Championship

Ghana’s U20 national team, the Black Satellites, have clinched third place at the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship after a commanding 2-0 victory over Niger in Wednesday’s bronze medal match.

The young Ghanaians bounced back from their semi-final heartbreak with a composed and confident performance, sealing a podium finish. The win adds a much-needed morale boost for the team and technical staff, who have faced pressure following an inconsistent run in recent tournaments.

The bronze medal marks a positive end to the tournament for the Black Satellites, who will now shift their focus to building momentum ahead of the African U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Ghana last won the WAFU Zone B U20 Championship in 2020 and remain one of the region’s most decorated youth sides.
