2013 is a year of Progress – Bishop Lodonu

Most Reverend Francis A.K. Lodonu, Catholic Bishop of Ho, Monday predicted that 2013 would be a year of progress for the country.

“I am very sure and confident that we will have true progress in 2013,” he said. Bishop Lodonu, who was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency in Ho, therefore, urged Ghanaians to forget about the misfortunes that hit the country in 2012 and trust in God.

“We don’t have to be afraid. God is in control. We just have to look at ourselves, be close to Jesus Christ and have fellow feeling for each other,” he said.

Bishop Lodonu urged President John Mahama to tackle corruption in the coming year.

Reverend James Noble Tulasi, Head Pastor of Jubilee Christian Centre, Ho, on his part, urged Ghanaians to rise above all limitations to make 2013 a successful year.

“The year 2012 is gone. Let’s overcome all sorrowful moments and hope for better times ahead,” he said.

Togbe Dadzawa III, Paramount Chief of Shia Traditional Area, called for hard work and action to move the country forward.

“We must all work hard. Our young people have to work extra hard for the rapid socio-economic development of the country,” he said.

Meanwhile, churches and drinking spots in Ho are preparing feverishly for watch-night services and outdoor activities respectively to welcome the New Year.
