2007 National Best Farmer supports the Police

Kumasi, Dec 31, GNA – Mr Edward Akate, 2007 National Best Farmer, has donated 50 bags of cement worth GH¢650.00 in support of the construction of a Police Station at Buokrom, Kumasi.

He said the donation was his contribution to bring down crime and maint= ain law and order in the area. Mr Akate, who is the Director of Akate Farms, promised to support development projects initiated by the community.

The Assembly member for Old-Tafo Ahenbronum and Chairman of the Buokrom -Ahwiaa Overseas Landlords Association, Mr Francis Ampadu who received the gift expressed gratitude for the donation.

The project, which started last year, is estimated to cost about GH¢80,000.00 and

is being financed through the payment of special levies by residents. Mr Ampadu said so far more than GH¢7,500.00 had been spent on it. He appealed to the people to pay the levies to enable the project to be completed

on schedule.
