2004 Review: Major events

Accra, Dec. 31, GNA – Ghanaians began the year on a quiet note but Election 2004 became the major preoccupation of most citizens with the media setting the agenda for discussions on major issues such as mergers of political parties and who stood the chance of becoming running mates.

President John Agyekum Kufuor waded into discussions of expectations when he announced that the year promised to be good. The following are some major events recorded by the Ghana News Agency:
