20 arrested at Oshiee over chieftaincy clashes

The police has arrested some 20 suspects in connection with renewed chieftaincy clashes in Oshiee near Kokrobite in Accra.

The clashes which have so far claimed one life with four injuries began over the weekend when some youth of the area attacked opponents in the dispute.

Oshiee has almost become a Ghost Town with many fleeing to neighboring towns.

Frank Nii Okai Bobby, a resident of Oshiee told Starr News children in the area cannot go to school as a result of the incident.

“Though the Police were able to arrest about 20 people, the leaders of the group managed to escape. As it stands now no child can go to school because most people have fled to neighboring towns for fear of their lives… as I speak to you now my house has been burnt down and my kids have left to Chantan”.
