16-seater toilet facility for Krobo

Krobo (B/A), June 28, GNA – Mr. Alex Kyeremeh, Techiman Municipal Chief Executive, has stated that the government assistance to communities would largely depend upon how the communities helped themselves. He said this at a sod-cutting ceremony to commence the construction of a 16-seater aqua-privy at the cost of GHC 30,607.18 for the people of Krobo. The facility is being funded by the District Development Fund. Mr. Kyeremeh stressed that many communities in the municipality were embarking on self-help development programme, and urged the people of Krobo to contribute meaningfully towards development projects, to raise the image of the town.

He asked people to bury their differences, unite and undertake more development projects in order to catch up with other communities in the race of development. Mr. Kyeremeh gave the assurance that the assembly would continue to provide the people with their basic health needs, but cautioned them against indiscriminate dumping of refuse that could lead to the outbreak of diseases.

Mr. Eric Yeboah Takyia, Krobo Area council chairman, thanked the assembly for the facility and assured that the project would be closely monitoring to forestall any shoddy work. 28 June 10
