14-year-old boy found dead at Ahwiase

A 14-year-old boy has been found dead at Ahwiaso, a farming community in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai District of the Western Region.

The Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai District Police said they are investigating the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.

The boy was found hanging on a tree, and police are yet to establish whether it was suicide or he was killed.

The boy, 14, has been identified as Solomon, who met his untimely death last Friday.

The residents say the Ahwiaso area, which is one of the densely populated mining and farming communities in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai District, has since been thrown into a state of shock.

The body of the deceased was found around 10am last Friday.

“The doctors at the hospital revealed there was severe cut in the boy’s anus, and therefore we suspect a foul play,” the family said after reporting the incident to the police.

The family members of the deceased say they are deeply worried and have since been living in sorrow.

They are urging the police command in the Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai District to unravel the mystery surrounding the untimely death of the teenager. The police command says it will not leave any stone unturned to arrest the perpetrators.

They have, therefore, appealed to the family to assist them with information to act diligently in conducting the investigations.
