13-year-old boy dies of electrocution

A 13-year-old boy has been electrocuted at Tuba Junction near Weija here in Accra.

According to an eyewitness, because people were afraid to go near the live wires that had entangled the boy, he was electrocuted until officials of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), who just happened to be passing by, intervened, albeit late.

The young boy who has been identified as Isaac was asked by his mother to connect electricity to a wooden structure which served as their home.

According to the eyewitness, the electrical cables tangled around the boy’s hands which led to his electrocution.
