13 women to contest District Assembly Election in Ejisu

Ejisu (Ash), Dec. 22, GNA – Thirteen (13) women have joined the race= to be voted into the Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Assembly, in the December 28 District Assembly polls. A total of 178 candidates are contesting the election in the municipality.

Mrs Alberta Mensah Bonsu, Municipal Electoral Officer, told the Ghana News Agency that all was set for the poll.

An Election Task Force, consisting of security officers, staff of the assembly, Information Service Department and the Electoral Commission have been formed to see to the smooth and peaceful conduct of the election. She said platforms had been mounted for the candidates in all the electoral areas to outline their vision to the voters. Mrs Mensah-Bonsu advised the contestants to ensure a clean campaign devoid of insults and personality attack. She also encouraged the people to turn out in their numbers on polling day.
