13 arrested over Kumasi shooting incidents

Thirteen suspects have been arrested in connection with three separate shooting incidents at Ashtown, Dechemso and Bantama in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly which left four people dead.

The Ashanti Regional Police Command says seven people have been arrested in connection with the death of Kwadwo Asamoah also known as Gausu and Victor Ocran at Ashtown.

Three people have also been arrested in connection with the Dechemso robbery incident which left nephew of the NPP Regional Chairman, Prince Antoh dead.

Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Augustine Gyening, told journalists three other persons have been arrested in connection with the shooting of a security man at a hotel in Bantama.

Maama Lawal, 19 and Abdul Aziz Illiasu, 17, were arrested at a town in Upper Denkyira in the Central Region. Others include Mohammed Bello Gyimah, 58, Sheila Boakye, Hadi Awudu, Yaw Boakye aka Aliki. They were arrested in Kumasi.
