120 SSS Graduates employed as auxiliary health assistants

Akyem Oda (E/R), Jan. 24, GNA- The Birim South District Assembly on Wednesday employed 120 Senior Secondary School (SSS) graduates as auxiliary health assistants after an interview to fill vacancies in health institutions in the area.

Two hundred and fifty applicants attended the interview. The assembly last year employed 650 youth under the other modules of the programme such as youth in agriculture, Community sanitation assistants and pupil teachers.

Mr Frank Kwame Busumtwi, the Birim South District Chief Executive told those who could not be employed not to lose hope as they would be considered in the other components of the programme. He urged the successful ones to work with dedication to justify the government’s intention to bring health facilities at the doorsteps of the poor.

Mr John Asiedu, the District Youth Employment Coordinator advised young graduates to be innovative to see how best they could create jobs for themselves instead of over reliance on the government. He explained that there were several Micro Credit Schemes in the district where the youth could access finance for their enterprises and advised them to take advantage to be gainfully employed.
