12-Year Old Chieftaincy Dispute In Agona Abodom Resolved

Agona Abodom (Central Region), 8 Oct. ,

A 12-year-old chieftaincy dispute between the Odikro and Mankrado of Agona Abodom has been resolved amicably by the Agona District Chief Executive, Mr. Samuel Adu-Yeboah. A misunderstanding between Nana Osam Dadzie X, Odikro of Agona Abodom and Nana Fi Kwao VIII, the Mankrado, 12 years ago, led the odikro to surrender the black stool to the king-makers. Mr. Adu-Yeboah expressed his appreciation to the king-makers of the town for their mutual understanding and cooperation which, he said, had helped to resolve the dispute peacefully. He expressed the hope that the amicable settlement of the dispute will pave the way for a speedy development of the area. Mr. Samuel Oppong , MP for Agona West, praised the two factions for accepting their mistakes in good faith and urged youth associations in the town to take advantage of the peaceful atmosphere and initiate more development programmes. Nana Dadzie and Nana Kwao thanked the DCE and the MP for their efforts in settling the dispute which they admitted, had hindered the progress and welfare of their people. Nana Dadzie called for cooperation from the citizens to help the chiefs to step up development in the area.
