115 vie for 42 Nkoranza Assembly seats

Nkoranza (B/A), Aug. 11, GNA – A total of 115 candidates are contesting the 42 electoral seats in the Nkoranza District Assembly. Out of the number, 105 are men and 10 women. Four of the men will go un-opposed in their electoral areas.

Mr Kofi Frimpong, District Electoral Officer, told the Ghana News Agency at Nkoranza on Wednesday that the unopposed candidates are Mr Edward Kuuyiwe of Salamkrom, Mr Henry Amoako-Asante, Odumase, Mr Bafoe-Duah-Kwame of Nkwabeng-Yeboaasa and Mr Kyeremeh Yeboah of Bonte Bomiri.

The 10 women contestants are Miss Victoria Osei of Donkro-Nkwanta, Miss Grace Obeng Donkor, Yefri, Miss Faustina-Anima also of Donkro Nkwanta, Miss Monica Frema, Akumsa Domase and Miss Awuah-Pokuaa Mary, Sikaa.

The others are Ms Kate Adjei of Bredi Number One, Miss Dora Achiaa, Dotobaa, Miss Mary Azongo Alamisi also of Bredi Number One, Miss Rose Appau, Ayerede and Miss Sarah Oforiwah, Nkoranza-Kransieso and incumbent Assembly Member for the area.

Mr Frimpong said all the necessary forms with regard to the District Assembly and Unit Committee elections had been submitted to the Regional Electoral Commission office in Sunyani.

Meanwhile, Mr Kaasim Ibrahim Kaaka, Kintampo North District Electoral Officer has told the Ghana News Agency that 91 candidates were contesting the 25 electoral areas seats in the District. He said 82 of the candidates were men and nine women.
