11 Students Of Big Boss Suspended For Attending ‘Double Do’

Winkogo (U/E), – 11 June Eleven students of Bolgatanga Secondary School (Big Boss) have been suspended for two weeks each for sneaking out to attend the “Embassy Club Pleasure 97” held at the Bolgatanga Catering Rest House. This was announced by the Headmaster of the school, Mr Francis Avonsige, when he delivered a situation report at a parent/teacher association (PTA) executive meeting at the weekend. Mr Avonsige said as part of disciplinary measures, two tutors of the school were detailed to attend the “double do” and look out for students who might escape from school. The measure paid off as the tutors arrested eight girls and three boys who had left the campus without authority. The headmaster said 47 other students who refused to sign the nominal roll, as a result of which the scholarship secretariat could not rpt not give the school their feeding grants, would be deboardinised. Mr Avonsige commended the PTA for motivating the tutors by making provision for them to be served snacks. He appealed to the Bolgatanga District Assembly to help the school rehabilitate the girls dormitory which he said was in a deplorable state.
