11 “Macho men” arrested at NPP congress

Abaam (E/R), Sept 26, GNA – Eleven “Macho men” from Accra who arrived at Abaam in the Kwaebibrim District where the Kade constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) was holding its congress on Friday were arrested by the police on suspicion of coming to breach the peace.

The tall and heavily built men arrived in a mini-bus and were said to be looking for some party officials that aroused the suspicion leading to their arrest.

The party officials being sought were said to belong to one of the two main factions in the party in the constituency.

They were taken to the Kade District Police where they were granted bail and escorted to Boadua from where they left for Accra. Police sources said the MP for Kade, Mr Ofosu Asamoah and Mr Kwame Ofosu Okyere, the Constituency First Vice Chairman of the NPP, stood surety for the macho men.
