It has been hundred days since Ghanaians who badly wanted change, drove the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into opposition by voting for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 2016 elections.
The NPP, during the 2016 campaign made several promises; long term and short term ones and assured Ghanaians of better times when given the mantle to steer the affairs of the country. In the short term, the NPP promised to solve the power crisis, stabilize the Ghana Cedi, restore the National Health Insurance, scrap nuisance taxes to create a friendly and business enabling economy, among others.
After weighing the performance of the hundred-day-old Akufo-Addo government, apart from the few security hitches coming from vigilante groups affiliated to the NPP, most Ghanaians believe things have been good so far.
A section of Ghanaians who have been speaking to www.ghanaweb.com on the President’s performance after 100 days in office say they are hopeful of better days but want government to step up efforts in fulfilling its numerous pledges, especially the creation of jobs and its flagship free SHS policy.
