10 years for stealing GH¢64, 000

Bibiani (W/R), May 12, GNA – Patience Adam, a 26-year old ex-cashier of Guinness Distributing Company at Bibiani, has been jailed 10 years by a circuit court at Bibiani for stealing GH¢64,000 belonging to her former employees.

The court ordered the convict, who pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing, to refund the money after serving her prison term. Detective Chief Inspector Alex Asamoah told the court that the theft was detected in June last year, after the accounts book of Adam, ex-cashier of Joeman Enterprise, the distribution outlet of the company was audited. 12 May 09
