10 additional Colleges of Education is a waste – Nsowah

A former Director of the Ghana Education Service(GES), Mr. Michael Nsowah has chided government on the increasing the number of Colleges of Education.

According to him, this was another perfect example of how not to use state resources, insisting the 38 already existing ones were being under-utilized.

“I feel this is a political talk, he told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM .

“As an Educational Planner, I won’t approve this. About 38 of them we have now is under-utilized, so why will you go and build additional 10. We need to concentrate on the existing ones.”

Across-board, there are currently a total number of 43 Colleges of Education in the country, including both public and private ones.

The number of Public Colleges of Education is 38, while the Private Colleges of Education numbers about five.
